Inspection

Brightstar currently employ two fully competent and conversant inspectors ensuring that all products meet our client’s full expectations and working within the parameters of the specification. We also have access to Nace level 3 Coating inspection when the specification requires it.

Our in-house team can provide full quality plans including pre-job conferencing, Inspection test plans and full quality reports. We only use ‘Elcometer’ testing equipment along with the data processing software ‘Elcomaster’ copies of current ISO certification and calibration records can be provided upon request.

Blast Cleaning Standards

WHITE METAL

STANDARD:
SA3 – SSPC 5 – NACE 1

When viewed without magnification the surface must be free from visible oil, grease and dirt and free from mill scale, rust, coatings and foreign matter. It shall have a uniform metallic colour.

VERY THOROUGH BLAST CLEANING

STANDARD:
SA2.5 – SPPC 10 – NACE 2

When viewed without magnification the surface must be free from visible oil, grease and dirt and from most of the mill scale, rust, coatings and foreign matter. Any remaining traces of contamination shall show only as slight stains in the form of spots or stripes.

THOROUGH BLAST CLEANING

STANDARD:
SA2 – SSPC 10 – NACE 3

When viewed without magnification, the surface shall be free from visible oil grease and dirt, and from most of the mill scale, rust, coatings and foreign matter. Any residual contamination shall be firmly adhering.

LIGHT BLAST CLEANING

STANDARD:
SA1 – SSPC 7 – NACE 4

When viewed without magnification, the surface shall be free from visible oil, grease and dirt, and from poorly adhering mill scale, rust, coatings and foreign matter.
